Next Archbishop's Conversations in the Marketplace: [Read more]

Wednesday 14 March 2018, 07:30am

Is there a problem with African youth?

African youth are much in the news in Melbourne, but how widespread is the problem? Are Melburnians so tyrannised that they fear to go out to dinner, as Federal Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton alleged? Are Sudanese youth out of control, or is an entire community being unfairly stigmatised and stereotyped? What is the Sudanese migrant community doing about youth crime?

In his ¬first Federation Square Archbishop’s Conversation for 2018, Melbourne Anglican Archbishop Philip Freier talks to two people who really know from the inside: young lawyer and social activist Nyadol Nyuon, and Anglican minister and community leader Chaplain Soma.

We hope you can join us for this discussion at the Deakin Edge Theatre in Federation Square on Wednesday 14 March at 7.30am. (Morning, please note.) Admission is free, and there is no need to book.
