The Stawell ICC oversees the work of the Stawell Inter Church Council Cottage that provides emergency relief assistance to those in need in Stawell and Region. Immediate basic needs in times of financial crisis whilst maintaining the dignity of those who seek help. Food aid and a limited amount of coupons for the supermarket, chemist, fuel, vline, second-hand clothing, overnight accommodation and meals. Referrals are made for appointments to local community support services.
This service to those in need in Stawell and district has been happening since 1970. Volunteers from local churches and the Stawell community cooperate together to support the service.
The funds available to distribute come from a Commonwealth Government grant provided through Wimmera Uniting Care and donations from local churches, individuals and the law courts.
The Cottage is located at 20 Sloane Street, Stawell Vic 3380
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10.30am – 12.30pm.
