Good Friday in Frankston …. The Road to the Cross
(Frankston Ministers Network contact; website; Facebook; list of churches)

Good Friday in Frankston attracts well over 3000 people. It is held on the Frankston Foreshore and is a wonderful family day with lots of activities for children and their parents.
Each year more than 40 actors perform the story of Easter at the Frankston foreshore in a special ‘mobile theatre’ event on Good Friday. The free performance rolls out at a number of different foreshore locations, beginning at the Frankston Pier at 11am, and includes an interactive children’s discovery walk.
Activities continue after the performance with live music, hot food and coffee, as well as free children’s entertainment that includes a jumping castle, petting zoo, face-painting and crafts. The event is part of Frankston’s traditional Good Friday Festival, which is hosted each year by the Churches of Frankston.
Mass baptisms – in 2024, 180+ registered to be baptised as part of the event on Good Friday.
The family friendly event typically draws 1000’s of people to the Frankston Waterfront and is open to everyone to attend – Those coming are encouraged to bring a Hot Cross bun to share as part of the festivities.
Frankston City Council continues to support the Good Friday Festival through its Community Event Grants program each year and it is now one of the largest events of its kind in Australia!
