Josephine Margaret Bakhita, FDCC was a Canossian religious sister who lived in Italy for 45 years, after having been a slave in Sudan. In 2000, she was declared a saint, the first black woman to receive the honor in the modern era. Wikipedia
She is the patron saint of victims of modern slavery and human trafficking is celebrated on 8th February
